One of the biggest challenges a writer faces is how to market their book once it's finished.
If this sounds like you, then you may be interested in a free government-funded course called 'TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Digital Marketing'.
You can find more about it here, on https://freecoursesinengland.co.uk/digital-marketing-free-course/
Or click on the image to take you directly to the sign-up page.
The application process involves checking your eligibility by postcode, and you must be 19 years or older, an EU or UK resident for the past three years, and not currently enrolled on another government-funded course.
You will be asked some basic maths and English questions and will need to provide proof of your identity.
It will take a few days for your application to be processed, and provided you pass the vetting process, you will receive an email to confirm your acceptance. Next, you will be allocated a college that runs the course, and you will be given a login account to access it online.
Your study must commence straight away, because module assessments are set up every two weeks from acceptance, so this is not something you can sign up for and then leave until you get around to it.

The recommended time to complete the units and assessments for each module is 5-10 hours per week, and the course content is easy to follow. There are flashcards, quizzes and clickable tables to impart the information, all of which are brightly presented for engagement. The instructions to complete the assessments are also very clear.
The assignments are not like exams, but you are able to refer back to the course modules at any time to be confident of your answer.
Topics included in the course are:
an overview of digital marketing for business
search engine optimisation
social media for business
email as a promotion tool
digital marketing review.
This course is a nationally accredited qualification, and you will receive a certificate on completion. There is no face-to-face element, nor any college attendance, and as long as you complete your online assessments as required, you can study wherever and whenever it suits.
This course does not tell you how to set up an Amazon ad or which keywords are best to use, but it does give a useful insight into how digital marketing works for small businesses. It will explain the meaning behind words and phrases you may have heard but did not understand, and will certainly make you think of new ways to reach more readers.
If you are someone who enjoys learning, it is definitely worth a look.
