This book appealed to me at first because of the meticulous research carried out by the author, which details the lives and deaths of many household names who were all famous when I grew up. I enjoyed learning about the news reports that covered their deaths, and loved how the story crafted them all together into a new community. But more than that, the plot quickly developed into a pacy thriller where everyone was under suspicion, and I held my breath for the race against time scenes at the end. The conclusion was satisfying and very clever, setting things up nicely for the sequel. I warmed to all the characters, whether they were well-known celebrities or not, and I carry with me an image of Elvis walking along a sandy beach dressed as if he is about to perform! I am looking forward to reading Book 2 and seeing what happens next.
